1.

1.     What kind of products can you build for me?

We specialize in decks, arbors, and pergolas, however if there is a special request please feel free to ask and we will be happy to tell you if we can do it.

2.       What designs do you offer?

There are tons of different designs to offer. We will come out and look at your house, property, style and needs and help you determine what you would like to do based on all of the information.

3.       Can I build it myself?

Yes, but will you. Let’s face it. If you wanted to and had the time, you wouldn’t be thinking about calling me. Do you have the tools and knowledge to do it. If you decide to do it please consult me or another professional to give you advice. There is a lot more technical stuff than you might originally think.

4.       What materials do you use?

I typically use treated, cedar or a composite material like trex. However , if you would like a custom quote on a more exotic wood, I would be glad to do it for you.

5.       Is there a contract to sign?

Yes, I do have a simple contract to protect both of us.

6.       How much is an average deck?

There really is no “average” deck. Everyone has different tastes, styles and wants. Because of this I do not have “average” prices.

7.       How much is an estimate?

Free of Charge, and I will come out and do a computer analysis of your house and give you a very good idea of what your deck/house will look like.

8.   Do you use pressure treated materials and are there any dangers with them?

As of January 1, 2004, wood treated with CCA (chromated copper arsenate), has been phased out for consumer use. ACQ (alkaline copper quat) and CA (copper azole) are the new formulations used for treating wood against termite damage and rot. The EPA has approved all treatment methods for safe usage in residential applications. In addition, wood alternatives and composite decking materials have become consumer favorites. Popular wood alternatives include cedar and tropical hardwoods.

9.       How long will it take to build a deck?

Because of the different styles, sizes and other factors involved, there is not an exact time. But I will let you know when we do the estimate and before you sign a contract.

10.       Where do you build decks?

I build in the Austin and surrounding areas. Please give me a call if you are not sure if I will come out.
